The Greenline Letter, October
Greenline Solar · October 6, 2026
Autumn is when most homeowners stop thinking about solar, which is exactly why it is the best time to install. Crews are available within three weeks instead of ten, and a system installed in October is producing at full output by the long days of spring. This month we visited a family in Boulder who did just that last year, and we share what their first twelve months actually looked like.
Feature story
When Maya and Daniel Ortiz signed with Greenline last October, their main worry was not cost. It was whether a 7.2 kW system on a roof with a big maple next to it would ever pay back. Twelve months later, the system has produced 9,860 kWh, about 94% of the original estimate, and their electricity bill went from an average of $186 a month to $21. The maple cost them roughly 6% of output in summer, which our design team had predicted down to the panel.
"The part I did not expect was the app," Maya told us. "Our kids check it after school to see if we beat yesterday."
At their current savings, the Ortiz family is on track to pay back their system in just under seven years.

Find my reph doc "Agency client newsletter" with search_docs, then read it with read_doc. Draft the next issue in the client's voice from their brand guide, content calendar and this month's news. Find the last issue with search_docs and call get_reader_signals on it; keep sections readers finished and clicked. File it with suggest_edit, one replace_section op per section (heading line kept) so each can be accepted alone. Ask each open question (figures to confirm, a missing CTA link) with add_comment quoting that section's heading line, then call request_review with a one-line summary.
